Healthcare systems are almost at a breaking point in Canada. Pandemic-related stressors have exasperated pre-existing pressures on healthcare workers, leading to greater staff shortages and directly impacting access to care all over the country. How can organizations create the proper conditions to “stop the bleed”, identify potential recruitment pools and support new hires to thrive in increasingly complex environments, while increasing the quality of care for French-speaking populations?

This workshop will provide an overview of the attraction and retention approach presented in the Bilingual Health Workforce Strategy 2.0 available on eQUITY Link (Fall 2022) and focus on priority areas determined by participants. Using a design-thinking approach combined with subject matter experts, participants will be able to explore how to adapt the provided tools to suit their precise needs and current organizational functions and to identify 2-3 actionable items to implement within their organization.
